My parents have bought us a Kenwood Combination Microwave as my mum knew how much we used to love having crispy jacket potatoes in their one at home!
On their microwave they used to have a function button that you'd press and it would set up all the different things it needed to cook it (think it was grill & oven & microwave at the same time) ... however our new combi microwave has a potato button that uses microwave only resulting in typical soggy limp microwaved potatoes!
Any ideas what I should use?
is it microwave and convection at the same time??
cheers!

I used to have one of these years ago and if I remember correctly you need to use both functions at the same time as its the convection part which browns and crips the taters...if you rub them with a little olive oil and sprinkle with a touch of chunky salt they go even crispier!!...good luck...:DGrocery Budget from 24th August to 31st August - £100/Declared at £99.27 :j

I have a Neff combi and preheat my oven to 230 deg. (using the rapid heat button which means that it heats to the temperature quickly) . I then switch it off, put the jacket potatoes in and set it to 230 again but this time also add microwaves at 180 and do the potatoes for around 15 to 25 minutes depending on the size and how crispy I want them. I also do wedges this way but for a shorter time and with a smidgen of oil.0
