Hi, thanks for the replies,
Ian Griffiths Halifax - We have held off for 5 years while we tried to sort our finances and sadly only just got here to this site. We are now 36 and time is running out for having children. The choice for us was to have them now while we can and weather the financial storm or wait until the debts are paid. I don't know how long that would be. We made a choice.
I'm not after sympathy or a magic way out; I'm just interested if anyone else has been through similar.
Already got the dog;) .
Thanks again.0 -
Hi Nanny, I`m with Abbey and my deal runs out 8th Dec. I phoned them a month ago to see what they had on offer and I also asked them how much I would have to pay if it went on the SVR. They did give me a few options and although I wouldn`t say their rates were brilliant they were still better than staying on the SVR. They couldn`t give me any details of fixed rate until this week which were still ok.0

Well killmydebt, I can see where you coming from but financially it will cripple you. I had a child at 37 thinking my time was running out and I got more than I bargained for. I was unable to return to work and had to take a career break because she has a congenital syndrome. She is an absolute darling and is now 8 but life would have been much easier had I not had the debts I had. Remember that you`ll have childcare to pay for until the child is at least 11 unless you have friends/relatives who can help out. Is it possible for you to get a second job to pay your debts off quicker?0
