Expired M&S "&More" vouchers - tough luck?

I've been saving all of my M&S "&More" vouchers for Christmas, and to be honest, completely forgot about them. It now turns out that a substantial amount (~£50) have now expired.
Is it worth calling M&S, and appealing to their good will? Has anyone else tried? I know that Tesco would, if you're lucky, be sympathetic, and wondered if M&S would be too?
