maybe ask when they're likely to make a decision, how the successful candidate will be notified and would you be able to receive feedback on your interview (whether you are successful or not).

Usually forms part of job application information.

DON'T ask about salary / holidays.

DO ask about progression, working arrangements (team / on your own / big or small office / open plan), IT systems & specialist training, how role links into rest of department....

These are all really good replies, my background is University Admin and I am currently looking for work at the moment so this has also helped me.

I think it's ok to ask about the cuture of the organisation/office at a Uni as they are often huge places and each school/office/department can be different.

The OP said that she couldn't think of anything to ask during the interview...I always bring in a neatly written or typed A4 notepad with a few questions written on which you can refer to during this stage.

I also always ask if it is a new position or if somebody else was doing the role previously and

When I will hear the outcome of the interview, if I don't hear by the date I always ring them.

  • Ask them what the opportunities of progression in this career are.

    It is OK, tks
