Hi, I normally only lurk rather than post but am stuck for a few ideas.
My OH has to go to Scotland for 2 weeks at the beginning of december and I would like to make him a nice bag of goodies but not really sure what to put in it.
This is a new thing for us, have never really been apart for long and I know the kids will miss their daddy badly (and he will miss them theyre 1 and 3)
I was thinking of a framed pic of us, charge up ipod with some music and maybe a couple of mags (he doesn't read books or anything other than a newspaper). So has anyone got any more ideas, I know its still a long way off but trying to be organised for once.
Thanks Jess

How about a nice picture from both of the children? Maybe have 1 piece of paper and do their handprints and footprints on it?
how about envelopes for every day he is there can only open one each day and put in a special message from you to him, leaving the last one as a naughty one?
A small bag of toiletries for him for whilst he is away?
A bag of sweets/bar of chocky?
miniature bottle of wine for when he is in the hotel on his own?
Framed pic is a fantastic idea!Raising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -
Thanks Rustyflange
Those are great ideas.....I just had a thought about the notes, I really like the idea, but seeing as it will be early December, maybe I could turn them into a homemade advent calendar with little pressies or sweets etc.
Or a miniature xmas tree? Does that seem like a good idea?
Will definitely get the kids involved and get them to make something for him,
if anyone has any more ideas......keep them coming please!

Can the three year old make a card or a drawing for him?
You could also add some of his favourite sweets, chocolates etc and wrap them individually.
Whenever my husband goes away I write a little note or poem and hide it somewhere in his case for him to come across when he isnt expecting it.
I think the advent calender is a good idea.0
