Hi, thanks for all your replies. I posted the soa as a way of seeing what my current out goings are and seeking advice on them. It wasn't necessarily what i would use on my br sheet. Our situation is a bit awkward at the moment as my husband has been laid off from his job and has had no work for 3 weeks, has worked this work tho, but not been paid as yet. Hopefully he stays in work and earns some funds for us to live on. we are currently seeking housing and council tax benefit, but because he was self employed and i earn smp it seems to throw a spanner in the works and cause major kerfuffle everywhere. we could not get jsa as i earn too much and he pays class 2 national insurance contributions. we are also seeking tax credits. we have not had a payment for 2 years as we had an overpayment, so i have now adjusted our yearly income for this year and hopefully we get something back from them. we are living in limbo at the moment...nightmare!!
Answers to your questions are....
we have 2 children living with us full time and the 8 yr old sleeps over every other weekend.
the mobile is for 1 mobile, my husbands on contract. we have rang them up to explain our current situation, but as he is in a contract til oct we can not lower the tariff.
we are in similar situation with sky. tried to cancel it, but are in a contract til nov with them. we can lower it from next month to £16.
Our food bill is about £90-£100 a fortnight plus extras during the week for milk and bread etc on the 2nd week. i don't pay for nappies as use reuseables, so only have to pay £5 a week for his milk.
the other 'child expenses' on the soa are for child maintenance, £38 a week.
'other insurance' is for husbands public liability. he needs this to beable to work.
presents is probably obnly £10 -£20 a month, depending ont he month.....june is hectic!
haircuts. i pay £30 for mine every 4 months and hubbys is £10 every 2 onths, lo is £5 every 3 months or so.
i think its weird that you can't have entertainment, but can have holiday allowance. Hubby has footy subs of £7 a week and we don't have holidays.
hughes rental £36 a month is for our washing machine, tv and fridge freezer.
I have been to CAB and they suggested the bankruptcy as an option for us. never thought of about before. have an appoitment with the money advisor there in 2 weeks, so nothing will be done until then. I haven't got the funds for br order at the moment an how!! £495...ouch!

If you want some general advice on the SOA with respect to cutting back and making the most of your money, then it may be worth you posting it on the Debt-Free Wannabe board.
If you do decide with the help of CAB on BR then a "Debt-Free Wannabe" style SOA would have to be reworked for the BR, but as you see we can help with that.
So can CAB. Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB
