puff pastry - apple turnovers?

i was wondering how to make apple turnovers? can u use a standard puff pastry mix? a friendly freecycler has given me 2 big bags of apples and i am looking for ideas?
Ok, ok, i need to go back onto Weightwatchers, lost 7 stone..... 2 back on, this has to change.....Help!!!:eek:

You certainly can.
I used frozen apples, so didn't have to stew them before hand, but you may want to if they're fresh?
Just cut the pastry to the size you want, place the apples on half, dab the edge with water to seal an cover over. Sprinkle with sugar and bake until golden.
