I am in the process of setting up a new business doing jewellery parties at private homes. I am looking into methods of accepting payment by credit/debit cards and have been turned down by the high street banks as this type of business is considered 'hard selling'!
Does anyone have any experience of alternatives for accepting payment other than by cheque or cash?
Any help appreciated! Thanks

you could have people pay by paypal? on the night they can tell you what they want and that they want to pay by paypal. you give them your e-mail address for payment. perhaps they can give you their e-mail address so you can identify who has paid. They then have to send you the payment before you give them the goods? Paypal is an expensive way to recieve money though because they charge you a percentage of everything so you may have to alter your prices to reflect that for people who want the convenience.
I'll have a think about any other ideas and will post again if I think of anything.0 -
Have you tried Adelante? That's an online service for card payments but not totally sure what requirements are. I know Ann Summers use it and it's reliable.DEBT JUNE 2008 - £17,807.53:eek:DEBT SEPTEMBER 2008 - £16,325.70WINS: £150 THEATRE TOKENS, £100 CASH, MAMMA MIA SOUNDTRACK, RIZZLA WALLET, TREK BAR, BOTTLE OPENER, KEY RING :T0
