I'm pleased you got in touch first of all.
My gut instinct would be to cancel the cheques with MoneyShop and go in and make an offer of repayment to prevent further charges on your bank account. You won't go to jail, your accounts could get closed and you could get referred to a DCA.
I'm sure some more people will be along soon with better advice than I can give, but your not alone.0 -
Hello Petal,
Deep breath - go make yourself a cuppa and the answer will be along shortly

Have you spoken to CCCS or one of the other debt charities - they will be able to give you loads of info about what to do.

Hey Petal
don't panic - i've been here, firstly post an SOA on here these guys really can help, once you have that contact CCCS or Payplan
They will get you to look at how much you have coming in and how much you have going out, suggest a reasonable amount for you to still have a life on (the include hobbies and entertainment in the budget), then look at what you can afford to pay off a month and contact your credit cards and loan companies for you taking the stress off
I was a relief to stop being called 8 times a day and not getting post with great big capital letters
this can be salvaged trust me hun - if you need a shoulder PM me i have had my first really break through today with my first debt paid off in full and CCCS have sorted out the other 5 i feel human again!Piggy Bank £12.....Delay repay claims for train delays £98.75! mystery shopper work £20 Quidco £9.77 You Gov £1.00Payment a day challenger 63 - Ebay cleared! Hey Petal
I just want to give you a virtual hug - the first step to solving this is to get the help you need and you are in the right place.
It is very scary and frightening to be threatened by the companies but there is help for you and you will be able to sort it and you will come out the other side.
I'm not knowledgeable enough to give you any financial advice but I know you can resolve this with the help on this board and from the valuable organisations that have been mentioned already.
Remember, this is something you can get out of and it would definitely not be better if you weren't here - if you are finding you are getting very stressed or depressed with all this, it may be worth while asking your GP to refer you to counselling or looking at some other ways of dealing with stress and depression.

Hi Petal, Listen to all the advice above. CCCS and Payplan are both excellent FREE organisations that give sound advice. They help you budget and will even deal with your creditors for you.
Good luck hun and try not to worry. We're all in the same boat as you, your not alone x0 -
Hi petal, deep breaths.
I was where you are in terms of how I was feeling just a couple of days ago, now I am no better off money wise but the kindness and guidance of the people on here has got me ready to deal with things. One step at a time petal.
