Working abroad(temp) during/after bankruptcy

Hi, once i have been made BR i would like to look into moving abroad for a few months to work (just bar work or something) as i`ve always wanted to do it but my stupid debts have held me back.
From what i`ve read elsewhere moving abroad during BR isn`t a problem but would i still be paying into an IPA if i`m earning a relatively low wage (800 euros P/M ish) and then forking out for all my rent and living expenses as i would be at home. Also would i need a different bank account abroad? Just want to get all my facts straight before considering these things!
I suppose its one of those things i`ll have to find out but if anyone has actually done this it`d be great to hear off you.

Hi samzak - I went abroad (Italy) for three months, after my bankruptcy. I had not been given an IPA/IPO, so I felt no need to inform the OR - at the same time, however, I did not do much paid work, and doubt very much whether I would have 'qualified' for an IPA.
Casual, especially 'bar', work is, generally very lowly paid, anyway, and usually not much more than 'subsistence level'.
That said, I really don't think that you would need to worry too much, as your 'bankruptcy' will only be applicable to the UK.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. Are you thinking of doing this work abroad now, as the summer season is almost over,or are you talking nxt summer before you are discharged?.
My daughter works abroad and she has an english account here that she uses abroad no problem. If a basic account is the same i have no idea, may make things a little harder/awkward.DFree impartial debt advice available from: National Debtline - Tel: 0808 808 4000 | The Consumer Credit Counselling Service (CCCS) - Tel: 0800 138 1111 | Find your local Citizens Advice Bureau

Thinking from early next year. Its the IPA concerning me more than anything cos i know i will be getting one after doing my SoA and just wondered if i went abroad do i pay my wages into my english account and if i ended up with an IPA whilst being abroad how do i get round paying it? I guess this is a totally different subject area and i will have to look this up myself and probably not half as complex as i`m making it out to be!!:rolleyes:0

You may well get an IPA/IPO based on your current circumstances. However, you should notify the OR of any changes (whether increase or decrease) during the 36 monh 'IPA period' and the OR should amend your IPA/PO payment up or down accordingly, and can even suspend payments.
UK Bankruptcy will NOT preclude you from opening a Bank Account in a different Country.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.

When my income changed my IPA was dissolved. So that can also happen.
I am a bit confused here
,i thought you said you were not working at the minute. If so how can you be so certain that you will get another job before the season starts, say end march/beg april?. If you don't have a job by then it would be unlikely that an IPA would be imposed whilst doing bar work abroad. Maybe you should just wait and see what happens,no point in worrying about something which may never happen.D Free impartial debt advice available from: National Debtline - Tel: 0808 808 4000 | The Consumer Credit Counselling Service (CCCS) - Tel: 0800 138 1111 | Find your local Citizens Advice Bureau
