codes and vouchers

hi im new. can somebody tell me a little more about codes. my daughter said she has a friend who uses them all the time. even for club books. she gets money off. but didnt know how it worked. ive heard of vouchers but not codes. need bit more information about it. and how it works. thank you

you may have seen boxes like these below at the checkout, you enter the code into these boxes.


You can get codes from a lot of websites, like here, most codes can be used by anyone, some are restricted to certain groups though.

different shops will have different codes, and may have restrictions on what they can be used on or if there is a minimum spend.
