Self Assesement - Missing statements

in Cutting tax
I'm just sorting out my self-assessment for last year but there are a few savings accounts statements that I can't find and can no longer download from the bank.
We are talking about interest of around £2 - £4/month for one account and less than £1/month for the other. I've around 6 statements that I am unable to get the figures for.
Can I estimate them and, if so, do I indicate this on the form somewhere?
I am not going to get anywhere near the minimum tax threshold so won't be paying any tax anyway. I just want to make sure that I go about this in the correct manner.
Thanks

If you ring and ask the bank, they'll send you a Statement of Interest Earned.0

Hi
Your bank may charge you for a statement - especially if you ask for a copy of your year end tax certificate. It really depends what bank you are with but Halifax charge £5 for copies of statements.0 -
The OP doesn't need copy statements, which banks charge for. She needs to ask for a Statement or Certificate of Interest Earned, or similar, depending on what her particular bank calls them.
This is a summary of interest earned throughout the financial year, which details gross and net amounts. Banks don't charge to issue these (as far as I know; NatWest, ING and A&L certainly don't).
Once you request one you might find the bank sends you one automatically each May thereafter.0 -
Hi
Sorry you are correct copy statements are charged differently. Just checked with my bank (A&L) and they don't charge for the initial tax certificate but if you need copies from previous years they charge £10. Eeek!0
