The CSA and DNA testing

Can anyone tell me when the non resident parent goes for a DNA test for the CSA how do they know it is actually the right person that attends.
Do they ask for photographic I.D. to make sure they are who they say they are.

My Mission today is to have an opinion on everything.
If you don't like it well you will just have to lump it!

there's a section about this on the CSA website.....
www.csa.gov.ukA DNA test usually involves testing a cheek-cell sample.
A DNA-testing company will send a cheek-cell sample kit to the doctors' of the person named as the parent of the child and the parent with care. Both the parent with care and the person named as the parent of the child can decide whether to use their own doctor, or choose another doctor from the list we provide.
The doctor will take some cheek cells from the inside of the mouth using small sponge on a stick. The test is quick, simple and painless. The doctor will then send the samples in tamper-proof packaging to the DNA-testing company.
A DNA test can also be taken from a blood sample. If both the person named as the parent of the child and the parent with care would prefer this type of test, they should tell us or the testing company.
The person named as the parent of the child, the parent with care and the child must have the same type of test. For example, they must all have blood sample tests or they must all have cheek-cell sample tests.
We will also need two passport-sized photographs of everyone taking the test. These are for security reasons and we may use them to identify who provided the sample.0 -
The NRP, PWC and baby in question must all take a passport size photograph with them when they go to the doctor doing the test. The doctor then signs the back confirming that the person they took the sample from is the person in the photograph.0

If the test comes back negative a visit is arranged to show you the photo of the man that took the test. I have to say that I have had a fair few that still disagreed with the results for various reasons though.Nothing to see here :beer:0

My husband has now denied that he is our daughter's father and has asked the CSA for a test. I'm hoping that what has been written above is fool proof as I think he would do something like that, book a Dr's appointment and send someone else to do the test. I think he is doing it to drag out paying for our daughter and can't believe he is denying parentage. All time low!0

Mine tried that one, but he didn't ever book the test, so they presumed parentage in the end and then he accepted it.0

Been there and got the t-shirt!! Just remember all the time that he is stalling the arrears will be building up. The assessment will take effect from the date that you made contact irrespective of how long he drags the DNA test out.
The process is foolproof. I had to take 2 photos each of me and baby (who is now not so baby at 7!!) and the doctor signs both copies of pics to confirm that that is who they took the sample from. One goes to the testing company and one goes back to the CSA.
Count yourself lucky that they now use cheek samples. My heart was breaking at my wee 7 month old bubba having to het her finger pricked for a blood sample.:(
Hope it all goes well for you0 -

Just to correct that, its effective from the date the CSA make contact with the non resident parent, not the date of the application.;)0 -

Some genuinely have doubts, some do it to delay paying. To be fair anyone paying large sums over long periods of time are entitled to be 100% sure.0 -
yes they are, but there are many who just think that by denying it, they don't have to pay.0
