more money on mortgage advice needed

Hi,

I have just applied for 3k extra on my mortgage over the phone today. I am 400 pound overdrawn in my natwest current account and in my shared alliance and leicester ( with my husband) we are 700 pound overdrawn.

Will this affect my mortgage application.

I have 2500 in a savings account. Shall i run and get this out today and clear my overdrafts or does this not make any difference.

Thanks

  • It depends on what your lender asks in any application.
What will you be using the £3k for?

It does seem a bit silly paying high rates on an overdraft when you have savings to pay it off though.
