Dating site - money back?

About a week ago, I decided to become a member on Friends Renunited Dating, after a long time debating about it. I've also been a 'free' member on another dating site (match.com), but decided on FRD. However, I've just received an email from the other dating site from another member
. I haven't been impressed with FRD, even for the short time I've been on there; no-one near where I live is EVER online and it just seems like a rip-off. Is it possible to get my money back?
I sound desperate I know..

I am not ashamed of the following:
I joined Match.com, and there were occasions when some dodgy women from America would send me a message. Whether that is the case with the message you have, obviously I have no idea.
But I did meet someone on Match.com over a year ago, and we get married in a month, September 20th.
Some may say Match.com is expensive, and that no money saver would use it. But it found me my future wife and for me was money well spent

Most sites WON'T give you your money back – it's not their fault that you haven't met anyone – and in any case, if you've only been on the site a week, you really don't have grounds for complaint!
Before paying for membership on any site, if I got an alert saying I'd received an email, I'd check that person's profile out. In pretty much all cases I could tell from their profile what the email was going to be like – I wasn't going to pay for membership just to read a load of crap from a Nigerian visa hunter for example...
I did eventually register on Match. They have a '6 months free guarantee' – the catch being that you have to sign up for 6 months initially, keep your profile up there (no hiding it!), have a photo on your profile and contact 5 members or more each month (by contact they mean email or wink at another member). I'm 4 months into the initial 6 months and am on track to get 6 months free – you can't say that's not money saving!
However, further money saving can be gained from going through Quidco (I missed this one). Cashback as follows:
£20.00 for a one month subscription
£32.50 for a three month subscription
£45.00 for a six month subscription
That cashback would more than likely cancel out what you've paid on FRD... Just noticed the cashback's for new subscriptions only – perhaps delete your profile and sign up as a new user with a new email address...
If I don't respond to your posts, it's probably because you're on my 'Ignore' list.0 -
I had a bad experience with Match a couple of years ago, signed up for the 6 month deal and did everything that was asked of me to qualify for another 6 months Free. When the 6 months were up I didn't get my 6 months Free! They said I hadn't messaged enough people in the first month which was a load of ......
I emailed their Customer Service a few times (who were based in the States) and were no help whatsoever.
Needless to say I didn't renew my membership!0
