Ok ladies,
I've been watching demos of these items on You Tube and, if possible, I'd like some opinions on what's the best one to get?
It looked like to me that the cartridges for the Cricut were expensive to keep buying, Sizzix, less??
Anyone use these and if so, how do you find them?
Thanks
Sal

Its on page 124 and on page 125 is the handbag that mumoftwo did that was done using a cuttlebug. mumoftwo loves hers dont think she would be without it now so my vote is for the cuttlebug all the way plus the embossing folders etc dont cost the earth.0

It is so wrong that we have to pay so nuch here for craft stuff when I was visiting my daughter in US I bought one, well 2 actually as 1 was her early birthday present. It was approx $70 then the store had 40% off any 1 item so that took it down to approx $42 and with the good exchange rate is cost me about £21. MY DH paid seperately for the 2nd so we could get the discount again. Only problem my DH had was explaining what it was at immigration, they must have thought he was money laundering :rotfl: :rotfl: poor guy wasn't too sure what is was as I was still at our daughters!!Nothing Changes if Nothing Changes0 -
Cuttlebug all the way! My mother bought me one and at first I didn't think I would use it, but I am addicted now. Easy to use, and other dies fit into it as well like sizzix
The embossing is superb with the cuttlebug. Like Polly said, look on the cardmaking site, I have posted a couple of pictures on there0 -
I have a cuttlebug and a cricut, because there are things which each one can do that the other can't.
There are loads of pluses for both of them, but for the 'bug, die buying can be a bit addictive!
Best prices are definitely from the US, even with the pound not being quite as strong as it was0 -
And can you make multiple things with all of them, or just one at a time, if you know what I mean?

Sal, the cricut you can set it to cut however many of the design you want, hit the button and let it get on with it.
With the bug, you can only emboss 1 at a time, or you seriously lose detail.
How many you can cut with the bug depends on the die and the material you're cutting.
Eg with a Quik-kutz die, I'd only ever cut 1 thickness at a time, but if you're using a larger "thick" die (sizzix etc) you can definitely cut 2 at a time, and depending on the amount of detail on the die, you can do 3.
For me, having the bug and the cricut is the best combination (I use them for business), and they're well worth saving up for0 -

Thanks Amandada
I'll look into it further and see if I can persuade my OH that one of these will be a good idea for a Xmas pressie - lol
