Movement/Settlement:Slightly more complicated problem

Hi Everyone,

I'm worried about a crack which I have noticed on the outside wall underneath the window sill (house 100+yrs old)...which I have never noticed before. The history is that we bought the house 4 years ago and on the valuation report it said 'the property has suffered previous movement but there is no evidence to suggest this is ongoing'.After speaking with the chap who did the basic survey he said not to worry about it.

We decided to keep with the same local insurance company which previously insured the house (which I think may have been a specialist one but not 100% sure) as we were abit worried about this movement thing (why do i worry so!). However we swapped about 2 years ago to get the extra value (im a yorkshire man). The thing is I can't remember them asking about movement / subsidence etc and Im worried that my house may now have previous 'history' which I should have declared

So my questions are:

1, Should I conatct my insurance company and tell them about the possible new crack?

2, Should I conatct my insurance company and ask them if I should have mentioned the movement...then tell them about the crack

3, Get a structural report done first to see if its a problem and Im worrying over nothing and then tell the insurance company?

Any help at all (if anyone else has been through this) is really appreciated as we are abit ... well...worried. Thanks very much for your time.

Any chance of a picture? Cracks below a window sill may just simply be pressure cracks, and aren't necessarily an indication of any sort of movement.
