Hi,
I am declaring myself BR tomorrow at Bristol County Court and was just wondering what to expect? I am really scared but luckily my OH is coming with me for moral support. Also, what is the OR like in Bristol, what can I expect from the interview? Will be so glad when all this is over

There are several OR's in every IS dept so there is no saying you will get the same as another poster. There have been a few at bristol recently, try using the search button to see if any come up.
Good luck for tomorrow you will be fine,it is never as bad as what we think, quite painless really;) not as bad or as scary as the dentist anyway:D .DFree impartial debt advice available from: National Debtline - Tel: 0808 808 4000 | The Consumer Credit Counselling Service (CCCS) - Tel: 0800 138 1111 | Find your local Citizens Advice Bureau

Hi vem - My bankruptcy was not at Bristol - it was at the High Court, London (HMRC). However, my OR meeting was transferred to Bristol, as it is nearer my home.
Whilst they were very 'thorough' - as, doubtless all ORs are - the interviewer was very polite and non-judgemental. She offered me coffee (pretty standard vending machine stuff) and allowed me a break after two hours.
The interview room was pleasant - if a bit 'anasthetic' and there was no 'unpleasantness' at all. She informed me that my case would probably be referred to a 'trustee' due to the 'equity' in my house, and that she would be discussing my case, with her manager, but did not think that I would be awarded an IPA/IPO.
At the end of the interview, we had an 'off the record' chat about the increase in number of bankruptcies.
The next correspondence that I received, from the OR, was a letter, about six weeks later, stating that she had completed her 'investigations' into my case, and the whole file had now een passed over to the 'trustee'.
So - nothing really to worry about.
Good luckI am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.
