I am considering buying a breadmaker and I just wanted to know;
1: Are they any good?
2: Which make is the best?
Thanks

I love mine and i don't ever buy bread anymore...however, i have a morphy richards fastbake but i wouldn't buy that one again as no matter what i did i still get a loaf that is so crusty my DD's can't eat the crusts (so i make cobs now and sometimes finish the loaf off in the oven).
There are lots of threads on breadmakers and i'm sure someone will come along soon and point you in the right direction for them (i'm sorry i still don't know how to do links on here)
Also, you know what goes into the bread (no hidden e-numbers)0 -
I used to have a breadmaker and I used it regularly until I killed her
It was a morphy richards fastbake and it was lovely to wake up to the smell of fresh bread in the morning. One of the downsides with the bread maker is that the loaves have a hole in the bottom (though with the MR, you could lay the loaf on it's side and slice like that, so only the end few slices had the hole). Most OSers recommend a Panasonic machine.
However, I have since started to make bread by hand (not constantly, I don't eat bread every day) and I have to say I love it, and it's nowhere near as time-consuming as you might think (five mins kneading and, depending on the recipe, maybe another 5 mins knocking it back).
If you have the money to spend on a bread maker and that's what you want, then go for it. Just remember a home-baked loaf is rather different (thankfully!) to shop bought

Hi there :beer: Take a look at this thread: Is it worth buying a breadmaker?
I have a Panasonic and love it :T The Morphy Richard Fastbake has a real following too
I'll add this thread to the above one later, to keep ideas together.
