Depends on what sort of size you are thinking of and whether you want it to be portable or you have a room in mind where it can be set up for long periods.
I'll get my thinking cap on, just let me know.
Think I would need it to be portable ,got enough stuff "hanging" about
thanks for reply0 -
Have you got a table, desk, dressing table, paste table that you could use as a counter - covered with a cloth?
For the background:
Get an old plain sheet and roughly paint (or felt-tip) some shelves on it. Then either paint some jars etc. or stick pictures of them onto the sheeting and hang this up on the wall.
*Get your son to help in the process as part of the fun, kids love to be involved and they don't mind if things aren't 'just right'.
Don't forget a chair or stool for him.
Make him a staff badge from a piece of card stuck onto a safety pin.
Other items he might need:
Telephone
Receipts (save old ones when you are out shopping)
Buy One Get One Free/Sale/Special of the Week/ etc. posters
Pen and notepad
Cashbox
Calculator (toy or real)
Get toy money from here, http://www.festisite.com/money/
HTH for now (I may think of more later!)

Also remember to make things 'child-friendly' and suitable for his age group.
Think of his height and size things accordingly.
I'm sure you'll check that everything you use is safe for him eg. check paint, no small objects, what sweets to use etc.
If he puts his fingers in his mouth alot it may be better to use cardboard coins instead of real ones to play with.
He'll probably want a few teddies/toys to act as his 'customers' too!0
