OH Wages

Hi all,
Thanks again to everyone who has helped me so far. Just a quick this time.
Why does the OR need to see my wives wage slips. I have no income myself and which does mean I have no outgoings. I understand I have to show what has to be paid each month from food and mortgage but as all of these are being paid by my wife which is a massive struggle. And with my debts we are short each month.
But surly her wages are her personal business and what she spends her money is her choice. As when I start earning I would pay half of all house hold bills and my surplus should go to the OR.
How true is all this??
Thanks again Steve

Not sure what the answer is but my OR did ask me what my OH wages were per wk in the 2 years up to bc. So maybe he/she is looking at before bc rather than now:rolleyes: .Just a thought.DFree impartial debt advice available from: National Debtline - Tel: 0808 808 4000 | The Consumer Credit Counselling Service (CCCS) - Tel: 0800 138 1111 | Find your local Citizens Advice Bureau

Probably just to see if your living is sustainable on your wifes wages. If for example you had told the OR that your household outgoings were £1000 pm, and your wifes wages were only £400, that would imply that somewhere along the line you are finding £600 that the OR doesn't know about. I'm not suggesting for one moment that that is what you are doing, but that could be an example of why they would want to see her payslips.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0

I dont work and all bills etc are paid for out of hubbys wages. I filled in the part on the forms that said how much he contributed to the household income and that I have no income. His wages have never been queried and I havnt had to supply any proof of them.0

I am in the same situation as my wife pays for everything at the moment but we are really being tight.
What will happen to my SOA as if I was working we could put more down as we are just living off £45 for food a week but which is a struggle.
Our mortgage is at the moment interest only and when i work it will go to repayment and up another £400 per month.
Will the OR take all this into account??0
