Hi – I thought it about time that I introduced myself. I’ve posted a few times now and joined a couple of challenges, but have actually been lurking around the forum for about eighteen months During that time, thanks to you guys, I have managed to shave about £10k off my debt. So a big round of applause to all of you out there!! :T
I did manage to clear a bit more than that, but I had a serious accident and couldn’t do a lot of things for a while, like cook or drive, so had to live on ready microwave meals and use taxis. So the food budget went out of the window, followed by the rest of the budget ‘cos I felt sorry for myself!
Fortunately, I’m fine now and have got the spending back under control, so I’m reporting for duty and hoping to join the DFW fun, if you’ll have me…

Hi piquant - we've already met informally on the Pap/Moozie Daily Spend thread - but thanks for your formal introduction, and welcome to DFW. :T :TI am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

Thanks guys, I feel all warm and welcomed!!
Am back on the bandwagon, promise! And I so enjoy cooking now, it's amazing how quickly you go off microwave meals even when they are from M&S
The only way to clear the debts was to be very very strict with myself, can you do strict Strumpet? I'll be over for the bourbon shortly....Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30
