OK so i rang Total Fitness and asked how much per month it is for a student.
After a long and tactical phone call from the sales person the price given was £32 per month.
Is this reasonable? I know of a gym which charges £21 but its a bit further away.
Thanks

I am a member of Total Fitness (sunny Yorkshire) and find the facilities very good and well worth the money, certainly for me, I tend to go 4/5 times a week
You could try hanging on for a while, they will phone you to try and clinch the sale at which point try to haggle some more but I found when negotiating my membership that the sales staff have very little discretion in the cost. As to if £32 a month is reasonable it is somewhat more than I pay but I think it depends on area plus I pay up front for a full 12 monthly membership.
Do remember to read the T@C s as they will stict to them and there are so many people who come on here trying to get out of paying membership to various gyms, so let me point out one item which seems to be standard in most gyms
1. Membership is a commitment for a minimum period of 12 months regardless of changes in personal circumstances, whether paying by monthly direct debit or annually in advance and may not be transferred to another person."The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts."
