Trustee & Creditors meeting after discharge

Hi Everybody.

Looking for some advice. I was automatically discharged in July.

Was made bankrupt by IR for money i didn't owe. Advised to let it go through rather than fight as also in middle of divorce.

My case was handled by the OR throughout. Had initial meeting and little other contact throughout. In the middle of divorce , house sold and OR had my share of equity.

Got a letter from OR 2 weeks before discharge to say trustee been appointed.

Automatic discharge now showing.

Just recieved a letter from Trustee to say they are having irst meeting of creditors in September.

What is happening now , I thought i could put all this behind me and get on with my life again.

What can happen now , can anybody help ? Do I have anything to be concerned about.

Thanks Everyone

Don't panic. If there was equity in the house this has to be distributed now, so all this is doing is keeping you informed that the process is happening.

Congratulations on your AD. Have you started the process of cleaning your credit reference files up yet? See the sticky at the top of the front page for how to do this.

  • Thanks for that reassurance , it all seemed a lot less painful than i expected it to be. I suppose i am just expecting that there has to be a catch.

Signed back up to equifax last week , however won't show my credit ile at moment asks me to call customer services. Need to progress that today.

Does it mean if they are only just having a meeting that my old debt shouldn't show settled on my file.

    Thanks Again

Your bankruptcy is the thing that 'settles' the debt. You need to get your reports from all 3 agencies.
