    For you information

As far as I understand, the code that I've received on the flyer is a unique code, so I didn't want to publish a code only to get a moan that the "code doesn't work".

And yes - you don't have to tell me the true spirit of moneysaving -  I've been on here long enough to have assisted other people in the past.

    :'( Hmmmmm!

If the code is on a flyer, it's highly likely it's not a unique code (which would have been posted personally to you).  Codes are posted on here all the time that have expired or been used the maximum number of times ... people don't generally "moan", they just thank the poster for being considerate enough to post and advise others if they've had no luck in having it accepted.

If you have what you think may be a unique code then, in my opinion, it should be treated as "unique" and not given out to anyone else.

I'd say it's my choice on whether or not to give out a unique code if it was posted to myself if I wasn't going to benefit from it - after all, " Is this really in the true spirit of money saving"......... ;D

I agree that codes should be shared for others to use.

I am new to all this. Can you tell me how you "bank" a tesco discount code and can you use more than one at a time.

    Many thanks
    Waddle you do eh?

    Hi Poppy8 and welcome!

I've copied a reply I did on another Tesco thread below, which should answer your question :-

Do your shop as normal and then click on "check out".  You can then process your shop, choosing your delivery date, inputting your code/s, choosing substitutions, etc. and then clicking on "proceed" at the bottom of the page.

Alternatively, if you wish to input a code/s, but don't want to "finalise" your shop at this point : click on "check out", choose your delivery date, go through the motions of inputting your code, etc., but DON'T press "proceed" at the bottom of the page.  Thus you can "bank" any number of codes in this manner.  You'll still have to choose a delivery date (which you can always alter later), but the code will be banked even though you choose not to proceed.  If you later return to input more codes in this way, you'll see the ones already banked.

There are different codes for groceries, wine, electrical goods, etc. for Tesco.com, but the majority posted on here are for groceries. Only one code can be used in any one shop and they will automatically be deducted, provided they are within the expiry date.  Most of the £5 codes can only be used if you spend £50 or more on your next grocery shop and most of the £10 codes are only valid if you spend £75 or more on groceries.

Hope the above helps and let me now if the above is not clear or you have any other queries.

  • can anyone explain when the discounts are deducted? I have entered two of the above codes one of which is £10 off £50 and have a shop of just over £50 but the guide price has not changed.
should i see a reduction in the guide price of the del i have scheduled for tomorrow? or is it the same as the multibuy and doesn't come off until after all the shopping has been done?
sorry if this is explained elsewhere but I did have a look and couldn't see it. (and i have a really thick head from a cold, so am probably beeing a bit dim ::) )

    Hi,

When you've gone through "checkout", you'll see any discounts deducted, giving you the total amount to pay.  However, when you get your confirmation email, as you've stated, multi-buys are not taken into account at this stage, but will only be shown on your delivery note and the discount applied when you pay.

By the way, are you certain the £10 discount is applicable for £50 or over as this amount is usually applied when you spend £75 or more?  This could explain why it isn't showing up.

    Hope this helps.

I think you must be correct in that i have only got vouchers for spend of over £75 not £50. Will just have to buy more chocolates to get my order up to £75 then !! ;D

    thanks for your help.
