British Gas - Default - UPDATE

Not sure if anyone remembers, but I had a few problems with British Gas and an old account last week:

http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1095915

Well after all that I did the letter as suggested but forgot my cheque book yesterday. I got home to find a letter from British Gas.

I opened it and it reads:

Further to your recent enquiry, i can confirm that the default registered with Experian on 9th December 2005 for the amount of £130.00 was deleted today

etc.

:j

I am so chuffed. I have filed the letter away carefully! That women i spoke to on Thursday was obviously just after some money.

    Thanks guys xx

It wasnt easy, trust me! It has taken me around 4 months to get this far. With them ignoring my letters and saying "yes pay us the £130 and it will be marked as settled"

Im so glad now as I was very upset last week.

Definitely agree with this 100%. It can get you down so you just think "oh ok i will pay it" but its worth fighting for if you know you are in the right.
