HSBC just cancelled all my direct debits!!! Arghhhh

Help! Been on a self administered DMP for approx 6 months, set up a new bank account to take care of my wages and all the debt pyments. Left my old HSBC account still running with all my utility bills etc coming out of it and my husbands wages going into it. Occasionally went over overdraft limit if bills came out a day or too before wages went in. Just logged on to see that they have reversed a direct debit that came out yesterday because of insufficent funds and cancelled all the direct debits. Arggghhhh....

get on the phone to them straight away this morning and see what "damage limitation" they can do.

Also, get on the phone to the people that the direct debits are too, and explain the situation - always better to inform them before a payment is missed if possible.

I don't use HSBC so don't know what they are like to deal with, so am afraid I don't have anything any more useful to give!

Why not post on the DMP mutual supporters thread - they may well have had similar experiences so could give you a better idea?
