Thanks, at one point in 2008 we had our LBM when we nearly went to FirstPlus to get a loan to cover it all, that's when my wife came on here, we read the fine print on the loan and thankfully never took it out.

The key has been that we always knew what the minimum payments needed were and we always paid that, after that we upped it when we could.

I also have become adept at basic excel sheets, so I created one for each debt to pay down - something like:
date, amount paid, interest, balance - and when you sum the interest paid at 29% on an 8K card - well that is enough to scare you into paying it as quick as possible - or it ought to be anyway!
