Some of the essentials like double sided tape a pack of card (A4) self adhesive gems I use tons of these ( well good few packets anyway)
It all depends on what type of cards she likes making
Does she put inserts in? http://s333.photobucket.com/albums/m373/SaveaPenny/Papers/inserts/
Does she do Decoupage? http://s333.photobucket.com/albums/m373/SaveaPenny/Decoupage/ and papers http://s333.photobucket.com/albums/m373/SaveaPenny/Papers/
There are loads of site for printing off freebies
I have loads of inserts and pages on mine if you want them help yourself
Print some sets off and put them in a clear folder
Prnt about 50 assorted inserts off and place them in a clear folder as well

Without kowing what type of cards she makes its hard to say what she would like apart from the general stuff
If you look anything like your passport photo....Your too ill to travel

I got some small paper punches in Hobbycraft for a card making box I made. They were 29p each and had bigger sizes for 49p (I think). Lots of different shapes.

A card maker can always use double sided tape, glue, sticky foam pads, card blanks...

How about some 'Handmade By' labels for your mum to stick on the back of her cards? I've seen on ebay you can buy these personalised with your name.

Peel -off stickers are always handy as well, in a variety of colours - different phrases, letters, maybe a few sheets of picture ones if you know what kind of thing she likes to put on cards.

Also, maybe a couple of rubber stamps and ink pads.

And how about some nice colouring pens - the Sakura ones are really good for card making.

I would suggest you have a look on www.artymiss.co.uk the prices are really good, and they always have lots of stamps etc in the clearance section which would be even better for you!

The works do special papers and cut outs. Wilkinsons also do good offers on card making materials. Sometimes Home and Bargain have good offers too.
