1970's Bel yoghurt maker.....is this ok to use?

I am looking for a yoghurt maker and i have just kindly been offered a 1970's Bel yoghurt maker from someone on freecycle. They have said they think it works fine and it comes with recipes and instructions.

Does anyone know if they are any good and should i expect to have loads of problems as it was made in the 1970's?

Any help appreciated...thanks

(i've spent all afternoon looking at the useful threads on here re yoghurt making...this site is so good).

I used to have one way back in the early 80s. It worked fine. I don't know what happened to it.

Well, i've emailed him back and said i would love the yoghurt maker. My DH thinks i'm mad as it's so old....i hope i can prove him wrong.

Thanks for your replies, i'll let you know how I get on.
