Some questions...

Hi all. I have some questions I hope you'll be able to answer.
1) It's two weeks tomorrow since I sent my letters making a token offer to my creditors - I have not had a reply from any of them so I will be sending out second letters tomorrow.
I intended to write something along the lines of "I am writing to you reference the enclosed letter (enclosing a copy of the first letter), dated 5th August 2008." But, I wasn't sure what else to say other than that without sounding too snotty, i.e. a polite way of saying I haven't had a response - I don't want to aggrovate things even further with a snotty letter!
2) One of my debts is an Argos storecard. I was wondering if in relation to this particular debt they would be able to take the goods that I purchased back from me? The reason why I am asking is I am thinking about selling what I bought for some extra money that I could use for Christmas, birthdays, etc.
I know the logical thing to do would be to sell it and pay back as much as I can to the creditor, but at the moment in my budget I have *no* spare money and with Christmas etc coming up I am getting worried, as not getting presents will mean my family finding out what's happening and I really don't want that to happen.

I'm not too sure about goods but I know when I was in trouble I used this website http://www.nationaldebtline.co.uk/england_wales/debt_advice.php#6
this shows the letters in order etc.
Hope this helps

Thanks, but they don't have a template for second letters. I used the website for my first letters (although admittedly re-typed it myself as it looked awful).Debt: £5343.67 + secured loan (August 2008)Target: Just learn to 'manage' at the moment!0 -
If you have sent a letter offering token payments the thing to do now is actually send the token payments whether they accept it or not. By all means put a copy of your old letter in with it.
The only way goods can be taken off you is if they were purchased under "hire purchase" rather than a loan or credit card. Brighthouse and cars are the kind of things that "could" be taken off you but you would have to read the agreement you signed as even in those cases there can be exceptions depending on how much you have paid.0 -

Thanks for the info. I will be making the payments on the 1st of each month (starting September) but I was going to do that online/by standing order. Although I requested standing order forms in my first letters, needless to say as they haven't responded I haven't received them, but I can find out the details by other means.Debt: £5343.67 + secured loan (August 2008)Target: Just learn to 'manage' at the moment!0
