how much should i say?

hi everybody, been to my CAB appointment today with the debt advisor , she thinks that bankruptcy shouldnt be a problem but she couldnt really sort out my out goings today as she needs to know how much my fella is earning, as he is self employed and in the building trade there isnt much work on at the moment so what should i put down on the forms??? she also said i should try to open an account before bankruptcy i rang co-op they said they could do it over the phone but they couldnt find my address on there computer so i would have to get my address registered with royal mail, so i rang them and they dont have my postcode on their files either !!!!!

any advice greatly appreciated

  • Dont really know bout your outgoings question........maybe put down a basic weeks amount. With re the bank account my advice would be not to open it before Br but after as their is a poss it will be frozen altho some people get to keep theirs but i decided it wasnt worth the risk so opened mine after leaving court.

    Hi

I opened my Co Op account 4 wks before BR. My OR said it was ok. They would just let the bank know it was in my interest to keep it for income. As Co Op are fine with BR as long as you don't owe them anything I think you would be ok.

    Hi Natfig,

    First things first.
Just clarify with the PO what your post code should be,it could be that you have got it wrong(there maybe some thing on the net postcde finder I thik its called)

Is it just you going BR or both of you???

You can open a CooP Cashminder account prior to BR I did when I called them I told them I was going BR,I did not however use it until after BR.

    Hope this helps DEz

    Hi Nat,

I think CAB are looking to see how your joint incomes are distributed. The OR will not want to know what your OH earns just that he is paying his fair share.Work out a SOA based on what you contribute and post it on here I am sure the more learned people on here will be able to advise

    Cheers DEz
