Which LCD tv?

Looking for an LCD tv for a present. Top of the range not required but don't want cheap & nasty either. Something mid range with good quality picture/sound is what we're after.

Don't know the first thing about LCD tvs, anyone offer advice on which models to look at please?

Tesco instore doing a 17" Beko at the moment for £199

Oh well, now you know....I'll need to change my plans.

Anyone know anything about Beko? I was thinking more along the lines of Sony/Toshiba/Hitachi/Sharp etc as they're fairly safe makes.

Should add it's for bedroom use so doesn't have to be massive.

I asked almost the same question on this board 03.11.05 and went for a 20 inch Beko from the suggestions.

Used a 20% discount code and the free gift code of here to reduce the price to £244

Downside is a 3 week wait for the unit to come into stock.
