Not a problem I've had - scrambled eggs, yes but poached eggs have never been a problem. I've got LeCreuset and cast iron pans now and find them easy to keep clean. Before, I had stainless steel pans and found them much more difficult, especially frying and sauteeing but that might have been me not having the heat right.

A quick google threw this up:

Wow! A whole website dedicated to poached eggs!

Pour coke in the pan, enough to cover all the stuck on stuff, and then heat it on the hob. Leave it for a little while to simmer away and you'll find it will magically clean the pan. I was on the verge of throwing a pan away that I'd been trying for ages to clean, tried the above and within 10 minutes it was sparkling.
Makes me wonder though what's in coke that can do this and is it good that we drink it

Coke's good for cleaning stained toilets too - puts me off drinking it as well

LOL I often use coke to clean toilets and stuff. However don't worry about drinking it as it gets mixed with stomach acids which are even stronger than coke. Then it gets metabolised by the body. Still not a good drink though imho, because of all that excess phosophorous and funny colourings in it. And of course in the case of regular coke, all that sugar...

Talking about stainless steel and a bit OT (sorry), I once had the unhappy idea of sprinkling harpic on a spot of my sink top that had built up some limescale, where I kept a just-washed cutlery holder. That harpic discoloured the area so that it looks odd now. Tried everything but the sparkle has gone. :(
Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.

I have stainless steel pans and they are like new. I used one of those wire steel scrubbers on them, they literally cut away anything that's stuck.
