when ur luck changes

hi
our estate got badly flooded last wkend, 6 houses away 1.5mtrs in the house,
for us lapping at the door step just as the rain ended,very lucky,,
been busy all week helping the neighbours and emptying my swimming pool (garage)
then wed got an email saying parcel on its way,my first thought was this is spam mail..
but it dident contain the normal you need to pay xxxxx. so just ignored it,thurs at 6.45 am im woken to the phone ringing and a man standing at the door to deliver a parcel..
took it in and opened it ,it contained a canon pixima printer/scanner.
no delivery note, no invoice nothing,,
do remember entering a few competitions but dont they usually tell you when you win something???
then on friday the same man delivers a second one
now im getting spooked!!
but hoping a new car turns up on monday,,,ha ha
still waiting for baby elvin to appear due 23rd nothing stiring at the mo.!!
got my eldest boy comming over for a few days apparently he stopped doing his athletics (has a slim chance of getting to 2012 olympics} and taken up drinking with da boys!!
needs a little chat and a nip in the bud..
well thats my week seems to drag now i dont spend every day buggetting although doing it once a weeek i feel im not fully keeping an eye on things
having said that i only take out food and my spending on a sat and cards go away tillnext week,
still paranoind about depts ..

Shaun, well done on the comp wins - you are def going through a streak of luck there aren't you! I was pleased to see that you are still budgeting, using cash etc rather than going mad and racking up the debt again - that really does show what a big learning curve you have been on, and what you have truly got out of it.

Re eldest DS - hmm.....he has to make his own way, frustrating though it may be as a parent. My two are very involved in their sport and although not yet out drinking as an alternative, my DD has twice taken a 4 or 5 month "break" from it......but in her own time she goes back, with renewed determination and the time away hasn't done her any harm.

Good luck with the new baby and keep popping in to let us know how you are going (and we need to know you are still on the straight and narrow!!)
