Somerfields + Other Supermarket Wrong Prices

1st post, and advanced appologies if I have posted in wrong forum. I did take some time choosing! :o

Great site, and now I'm a forum member I can join in. Did bag 1o x Fusion Razors at 37p each! Cheers :money:

Now SOMERFIELDS! , Having read the tesco posts re. misprices for the first time ever I checked my shopping reciept. I was charged £10 something for a 2 for £5 deal (12 x 100g Felix Cat Food). They corrected this at the till. Then when outside I noticed I havd been charged £3.17 for a £2.99 Pizza. Went back in and got my 18p!

BUT.. Tesco seem very generous with their refunds. Whats the score when being overcharged at other supermarkets?

Somerfields just refund difference, however if you're constantly being over charged by them make notes and contact their H/O,you'll get something as a goodwill gesture.

Welcome to the site and remember to post if you find a mis price at Tesco
  • Hi and welcome from me too!

Yes it is the wrong forum for this post, (I sometimes never know which forum to put things in and I've been on here for a couple of years!) but no big deal and some nice mod will move it for you - probably to 'Shop But Don't Drop' :)

I find that Morrisons are bugg3rs for overcharging and my Asda will only give you a £2 gift card for overcharging you if you ask for it as they are trying to phase it out, being as most of the others offer nothing.

Every time I go to somerfields I always get overcharged on something, very frustrating as I have to queue at customer services after paying, I try not to shop there anymore, Tesco's is more convenient for me anyway but my mum likes somerfields bakery!.

Somerfield are the worst for wrong prices, you can go in a week after "offers"change and the offer is still displayed on the shelf even though it ended a week before...ours is full of staff who dont care...i i bought the same tub of cottage cheese everyday for 12 days(i buy it anyway)with the wrong barker in front after the offer ended!!each time the staff said "oh that offer ended, and refunded me,without having the interest or common sense to take the old barker down

If you are a serious MSE - ALWAYS, ALWAYS, CHECK YOUR TILL RECEIPTS AT SUPERMARKETS :money: - I CAN PROMISE, YOU'LL BE GOBSMACKED AT JUST WHAT YOU'LL FIND AT TIMES!

I'm a total unremitting unashamed receipt checking addict ;) .........You simply wouldn't believe how many over-charging's I've picked up over the past few years. The refunds I've been given to date must run into hundreds of £'s! I find it really shocking!! It goes on almost everywhere!
However, what bothers me most is the consistency and regularity of some of these errors, the only place I have never had a problem with is Lidl!

A far too regular 'mistake' i pick up at my local large Sainsbury's is that of being charged twice for the same item! Which is so infuriating when you don't realise until you're unloaded back at the car...... You then have the hassle of having to go back into the store weighed down with all of your shopping to prove you only have one of a given item!! I'm so tired sometimes when this happens, I'm tempted to just leave it, but out of sheer principle I dig deep and find the energy to go back in, join the customer services queue or, wait patiently until I can grab someone's attention if it is after 8pm and there's no-one designated to be at the C.S. desk at that time!!!! Huff!

I think it's about time there was statutory legislation entitling customers to request a reasonable level of compensation for this type of avoidable inconvenience, in line with the amount of valuable time and fuel wasted in our efforts to get them to rectify their mistakes! Perhaps then they'd take a little more care!!:confused:

The few times I have got home without realising anything's up, I have rung the offending shop immediately and informed them of their mistake. I've never once had a problem with being given a refund, I could be telling any !!!! and bull story but, it obviously happens that often that most places take it in their stride and cough up on request!.....Shameful IMHO!
