DCA Interest Frozen?

Hi
I have a catalogue debt currently with Cabot DCA.I want to make a proposal for payment to them of £30 per month but also wanted to ask them if any interest would be frozen from here on in so i pay the amount i owe as i can only pay £30 p/m and didn't want it swallowed up in any interest charges they may put on me.I didn't want the balance to say the same in 6 months time after making 6 months of payments as i really want this debt cleared. Is there a standard letter i could write to them for this/any acts i could quote to them whereby i only pay what the balance says i owe now without them putting any extra charges on.The balance has already gone up by £50 in the letter they sent this morning saying they bought the debt from littlewoods and the balance is now with them.Thats £50 just to inform me the balance is with them!
Any help would be appreciated as i really want to get this sorted as soon as possible.

    Hi
I think there is a standard letter on the National Debtline website that you could use. I've generally found that DCA's tend to freeze interest more readily than the original creditors.

    Good luck.

    Thanks for the reply.
You don't happen to have a direct link to the letter by any chance?I just want to say the right thing when i reply to them if you know what i mean,so that they think i know my rights etc,and which way to word it correctly. Its good to know some DCA's do freeze interest, whether Cabot will is another thing.

Oh gawd!! I'm rubbish with computers and not good at doing links but if you look on the national debtline website, the letter is there. I will try and do the link but in the meantime, I am hoping that someone beats me to it before I crash the whole forum!!!

As I say, in my experience most of he DCA's froze interest quite willingly so I waited for my debts to be passed on to DCA's. Not had any dealings with Cabot though.

I think i'll have to combine a few of the template letters as there doesn't seem to be a specific letter i can find regarding freezing the interest and whether i have any rights in asking them too.I was hoping there was some kindof act in place whereby they couldn't add any more to the existing debt, unless i missed payments with them etc,.I think it just seems to be down to the individual DCA by the sounds of it.I'm just worried i'll still be paying this debt of in many years to come if they insist on charging me a rediculous amount of interest. Its not that i don't want to pay, just the opposite,i just want the figure to go down with payments and not up!
