Fillings for flannel reindeers?

Sorry if this has been discussed already; I still can't use the search function!
Has anyone thought they may put something other then soap inside these?
I realise it is a flannel so soap is the obvious thing but would it seem odd to put, say sweets, in there instead, do you think? :undecided
Also, if I put lush soap in there, how long before hand could I buy it, as I believe their products go off after a while?
Can anyone think of other fillings that may work?

You could use a bag of chocolate raisins or peanuts as reindeer poo!
If using lush stuff make sure you wrap it in something other than the paper it comes in as colours and oil leak out of them if left for a while and might spoil your flannel.0 -
Ooh I love the reindeer poo idea! I was wondering how I could make it child friendly and that would be ideal!
Is that the only 'problem' with lush products? They don't go off as such but may start leaking?0 -
Bestpud they all have use by dates on them, however I have bath bombs and soaps upstairs in the bathroom cupboard. Some were from June last year others were from Christmas last year and all still smell beautiful and still have same effect so personally I wouldnt have thought there would be any issues?
If you are doing them for children you could always add reindeer poo inside the flannels maybe in a small sandwich bag so they stay fairly fresh but would do these ones closer to christmas. If you prefer to use soaps then buy the children their own soap maybe johnsons or something like that.Raising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -
Lush soap keeps for 14 months. It is not kept in the shop or more than 4 months, so at least 10 months. Christmas soaps don't even come in until nowish so def ok for Christmas!0

If you use sweets it may take a little more effort to make up your reindeer as the soap is the perfect head shape. Just watch what you put the sweeties in to make sure your reindeer doesn't look like the sleigh landed on its face!

Great idea to use sweets though!! Saving hard for a brighter future!:beer:0 -
You could maybe use two or four bars of chocolate (like Mars Bar type shape, the smaller snack size ones would be good) instead of soap. That would give you more of a defined shape than a bag of sweets.:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator

Shopping in Asda last week and noticed that they do smaller bags of chocolate raisins, more individual size would they work??Nothing Changes if Nothing Changes0

I used 4 Kinder Chocolate finger thingies in my reindeer (sorry, can't remember what they are called!) Got them in packs of 6 in Poundland, so made 3 chocolate filled reindeer out of 2 packs. Were a little wider and shorter than soap, but came out ok.
Amberbunny - Now wishing I had thought of chocolate raisins as poo! :T0
