Are you really not on the electoral roll? If not, please do get signed up.

Also are you thinking of very old debts? Credit records show those acquired in the last 6 years, and then only if the creditor has reported them.

Why would i need to be on the electoral roll?

Some are a couple of years old some are last year, for example i owe vodafone about 60quid and i owe manchester met 3117 for my rent plus i also owe student loans that become debt because i dropped out?

Apart from not registering technically being an offence, checking that your are on the electoral role is one of the most basic and important ID checks that a creditor will check via your report.

Vodaphone may just not be reporting that to Experian.

Rent arrears won't be reported on your report.

Neither are arrears on student loans, although they will start doing so from later this year.

So if vodafone dont report me to experian then thats a good thing for me yeah?

I had 3G debt of 80 since early 2006, that shows as paid up to date on experian.

I have a debt with Co-op of £450 and thats not even on there?

Yet i still cant get credit?

You will not get credit if youy are not listed on the electoral roll.

It is the most basic ID check that creditors do and if you are not on then very few of them will consider you.

You are much more likely to get credit.

I know this sounds silly but if you have no credit showing, it can be hard to get credit.

it is one of the situations were a small account like a mobile phone or internet account that is paid regularly every month will help set up a credit record.
