Do our food shopping bills seem reasonable?

For our two cats we get a 10kg bag of Iams every 3 months or so for £40 (I can't get the senior food on special for some reason). We get it via a home delivery service so it saves on petrol costs as well, excellent service usually get it next day.
Although both our cats can go outdoors during the day they are shut in the garage at night so we have a litter tray in there, Tesco Value is good enough for my two and it only get changed when it smells although lumps get fished out each day if necessary.0 -
Burp if there is an Asda near to you they have whiskas kitten pouches on offer at 3 boxes for £6 at the moment, there are only 3 types included in the offer so if you do go for some make sure that you choose the right ones.
They are in jelly/ gravy etc.

Hey Sunnyday thank you for the tip!
There is an Asda in a town near us so I might keep an eye on their website for deals
I found a similar deal at Pets @ home so have stocked up on that for now!

UPDATE:
OH has been made redundant with no payout so that has given us the kick start to keep our bills down now ... so no frivalous spending!
Over the last 10 days we have spent roughly £60 on grocery shopping and £15 on cats ... next shop is due Saturday so looks like we have already made a cut from our £300 food bills!
The cat litter we were buying was Catsan clumping @ £5.99 for 5ltrs ... have found some clumping cat litter at Wilkinsons 10ltrs for £1.69! We were getting through roughly 4 - 5 bags of litter a month as the kittens are still too young to go out so already made a saving on that!
Keeping fingers crossed that a job comes up asap and keeping an eye on the offers from now on

Good luck, burp. I've always found an abrupt change in circumstances brings the whole family into line. Food wise, we eat just as well, I just end up cooking more.0

Good luck to you and your OH! we were in a similar situation about 7 months ago, DH is now working in another job but it``s minimum wage so we had a massive cut in our income. We are scraping by and he loves the new job so will be staying put, it`s so good to see him happy in his work for a change as he hated the old job although it paid well.
We would have gone under in around 2 months if it wasn`t for this site, we have learned so much it`s unbelievable and the support from everyone is fantastic. Some lovely peeps on here.
