Tesco Clubcard/registration Warning
kb51040
I have just discovered that another person has registered on Tesco.com using my email address. Tesco's security systems are so inadequate that I was able to access (in error) all their personal data, order history, clubcard details etc. I have raised this matter with Tesco and informed the other person but it does highlight the need to be very careful about registering using correct details (email address etc) and leaving data such as payment card details online, particularly when the inadequacy of a company's security systems (e.g. requiring only a registered email address to be entered before sending a password reminder) potentially puts customers at risk.

why on earth would someone use an email address other than their own?! that seems incredibly odd to me, when email addresses are free for anyone to have. the only situation i can imagine this happening in is with a couple, family or similar where there is quite a lot of trust.
did you receive order confirmations etc. from tesco whilst this account was in use then? like their shopping orders every week etc.?
how bizarre.0
