Funnily enough Darragh also gave a title to put in the subject line if you were still waiting for L2S vouchers you had ordered in order to get a speedy response. Don't suppose anyone has heard back from them yet??? - the people I know who have emailed yesterday afternoon still haven't heard back yet

  • Hello all

Welcome to darragh too as many have said

In response to your earlier question about buying things I havent yet, but if my girlfriend, my family, friends or I wanted to buy a CD id do it through the site just for points - probably wouldnt have to be much either, just makes sense to get something back

I think as maybe it has already been commented on here that linking to other websites and giving points would be a good idea. even if a 1 point, it increases traffic if you had a link to tescos's/asda/boots or places like HMV/virgin megastores - it doesnt take a lot to get ppl using the site and maybe buying from it.

the problem with buying - being honest - is that most people who have the patience to use the site regularly for points, are people who are by nature economical or on a tight budget due to different reasons - so the idea of points for holidays/dvd rentals/themed parties mite not work as well as they are expensive.
Maybe if you put a price comparison to other sites or places that do the same deals it could convince people more to use your service.

the site is fun at the moment - can see bits of humour - but maybe things like a weekly caption competion, and a pigsback user award for each month, maybe online art competitions that are themed, even if its just colouring a picture for kids and getting them involved. stuff that gets other ages involved and gets users out of the habit of just clicking and on to enjoying the site - i know the sudoku went down well as does the crossword (I do however think making a cryptic crossword for more advanced crossworders would be good) you could even get a user submitted competion/quiz every month

all of these are suggestions but I do think getting some friendly competition between users and family involvement would make the site more than a click fest

to be honest some people lose sight of the fact the gifts are FREE - whether u make money is not the issue - you do have to setup and organise the running of the site, as well as the promotions. Ipoints, greasy palm and other sites are rubbish for giving free points away and seem complex and unreliable - pigsback may at times falter but its not as bad as hassle ive had elsewhere

so I cant grumble about spending time on your site a bit a day to get something for free - I would spend longer if there were things like weblogs/mail/movie news etc... but obviously that may be getting a bit complex

    sorry for long post

I don't think that is true. The whole point about using PB is precisely because it IS free.

Happy birthday, Kazzea, m'dear! And thanks once again for all the quiz answers!

Edit: Meant to say that I haven't received my lottery points yet, but I was a little late signing up for that one. It will be interesting to see whether all those who, like me, signed up during the 400 point offer, get them, or are erroneously awarded just 200. This is probably the first test of their efficiency since Daragh came to join us here.
