Incorrect information on Credit File after Bankruptcy

Im new to all of this forum posting but i am just after a bit of advice really.
I am a discharged from being BR and have been since 2006. I have only decided to check my credit reports now to see how they look after being BR, as i am trying to rebuild my credit rating back up and sort out my credit files. I thought that when you declared your debts in the bankruptcy they would show as settled or account closed on the credit report. Having just had a look at my credit file with Callcredit my Tesco Visa card is still open and i have got 39 defaults showing on the report?. I have called Tesco and they cannot help me so i am now having to send my report along with a copy of my discharge to the debt management people to look into this for me.

Am i right in thinking that any old debts on your credit file should be showing as settle or closed after being discharged from bankruptcy? It seems i have quite a few that show as being declined and not settled?

Any help with this would be very much appreciated.

THere is a sticky on the front page of this forum that gives a step by step account of cleaning your credit files.

Come back if you can't find it.

The default day should be the date of bankruptcy.

Thanks for the replies so far.

Is there any way of finding out who the actual companies were that show under the communications section on the Equifax report asit just says retailer or communications supplier?

    Thanks

Is there a way of finding out who the companies are that are involved on the report so that you can write to their Data control officer asking for them to correct the account to show as being settled and no money is owed.

Thanks for everyones help so far.

Contact Equifax and ask who they are, you are entitled to that information. Have you had your reports from all 3 credit reference agencies?
