You can either try and get a later appointment on that day or take as much as possible out before 9am. There is no reason why you can not do that and say it was for your bc fees;) D

Withdraw the money. You NEED it for the fees, cos you have to buy your fridge etc with the other money....

If you tell the OR that there has been money paid in that morning (because you are likely to have to have a quick chat with the OR whilst in court on the phone) then as its a basic account then they are unlikely to have any interest in it, cos its for day-to day living expenses.

Have you opened a new account yet? Do that this week. HSBC (and places like Halifax) routinely close down even basic accounts for bankrupts. The Co-Op Cashminder is a good one - online banking and a visa debit.

Be careful - the Co-op are apparently no longer accepting people who owe them money prior to going BR. I agree with the others though - take the money cos you will need it to buy those essentials.

do I have to wait till after my bankruptcy appt to open Cashminder acct bearing in mind they might close it down on 21st? and could they refuse me.

phoned up DWP and said oi can you send me a giro as I am going bankrupt...        moron on end of the phone said we pay into nominated bank acct etc etc ad infinitum dwp brainless person, are they selectivley deaf or just enjoy winding folk up, spoke to her manager and she was nice but nothing they can do payment is in next weeks payout line or summit to that effect.. I was not expecting this backpayment and is a nice surprise etc but the timings just way out after the stress etc of my bankruptcy decision I was upbeat and happy now another stressful situation but in true MSE style I shall approach it head on..and I can at least have a cooker and washing machine again oh the joys and anticipation of piles of ironing and :D cooking again.

Look anne take some advice from a habital user of this forum. Get the washing machine by all means and the cooker but sod the iron.:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

On a serious note. Take out whatever you can on the morn then get to bank for 12am that night and draw the rest out if you still can. Or open an account with c-op or barclays now and transfer it all over into new account on the dy of bc. Just a few thoughts.D

  • EEEKKKK!!!!!

Just rang local Coop Bank in Walsall

Lady there said by all means apply but she must warn me that as off Wednesday they are using a more tougher approach to applicants due to the current financial situation when I pushed her further she said the Love off record there turning down more than accepting:eek:   but to apply anyway depended on who deals with my application

Are we seeing a door shutting in the face of bankrupt folk in this credit crunch clime???

God I hope not...and hope my application will go through she said see if I can use my partners account for DD etc thing is will my awful credit history impact on him??
