Sorry to be a pain but if I carry on with my DMP and they do not accept my payments and I get a CCJ can I still go BR with a CCJ.

The stumbling blocks there are 1..the holiday and 2...My OH reluctence to see me bankrupt. She does not read this forum and has visions of baliffs coming to take away our TV.
None of my debts are sucured so it seems the answer but I would rather have her onboard with this.
Thanks for the answers so far
A lot of people who don't understand exactly what BR means feel exactly the same as your OH. My brother was convinced they (whoever 'they' are) would come and take away our washing machine, the kids toys, the sofa, the clothes on my back etc etc
Could you maybe get her on here to have a read? Some of the diaries are excellent reading and show that there most definitely IS life after bankruptcy
It's entirely up to you if/when you do the deed but lots of people on here have said that they wished they'd done it months/years before they did, that all they were doing was putting off the inevitable. You can't control everything in life....... your hair was put on your head to remind you of that

BR trumps a CCJ anyway and that would be included in your BR. Court fines, CSA or student loans are NOT included in BR though.
Perhaps not paying into a DMP once (if) you have decided to definately go BR - you will need to save up for the fees anyway. Prepare for the enslaught of creditor harassment though! (I changed my phone number at this point)0 -
Thanks
I will get her on board and ,to be honest, I think I am 99% that i will go BR after xmas. Just need to get OH on board and then I will return.
Thank you for your patience and will see you all again soon.
I have already changed my account with the OD to a Nat West step account to which I get my wages paid into for when they decided they will close my account and want the OD back.0 -

Morning
Seem to have got OH on board about BR after xmas. It should make my journey a bit easier emotionally and mentally although I am under no illusions about how hard it could be.
Last hurdle now is just to check with human resources at work to see if it will affect my job. I work in the Travel industry so , fingers crossed , should be OK.
Have a good day everyone

Hi YM
I was worried about my hubby when I was thinking BR after advise from CAB. You will find my post quite a few pages back. HOWEVER once he realised the pressure it would remove and that our home was safe etc he was fine.
Yes it helps to have your family behind you. My parents were great, I was really worried about telling them. Now I feel a lot better and hope that I can get over my panic attacks and depression in time.
This site has the most fantastic support, and nothing is ever silly to ask. They helped get me through alot and I have just my OR interview to do.BSC No: 186 There is always light at the end of the tunnel. Unless someone's nicked the candle !
