Moorcroft - Do I have to deal with them?

I have a utility debt with E.ON. EON sent a red letter telling me to pay and I offered them £14pm. They passed it onto their in-house "United something or other" and I wrote offering the same money. Both letters have been ignored.
Last month I got a letter from Moorcroft threatening legal action as I had made no effort to pay.. blah...blah etc. But no letter from EON stating the debt had been passed over or sold on.
So I paid EON directly with my £14 and I will continue to log into my online account to pay it, regardless of if they (EON) ignore me about it).
Today I have had another letter from Moorcroft acknowledging the payment made directly but threatening me that they now adminster the debt and I have to call them now to make make payments/full/court etc etc. (The usual!!)
So my question is, do I have to deal with them? Can I just continue to pay EON directly each month. I mean Moorcroft are not going to get far in their alleged court action if I am paying up regularly, surely???
Ta!

I was in a similar position to you a few months ago, when i finally got through to someone from E.on they told me that i had to pay through the DCA and not them, so you may be best to contact E.on Over the phone to sort it out, and then get them to send whatever they say in writingWar does not decide who is right, It decides who is left.0
