  • Beware. My son took a Christmas job in the post office. He was told by DSS that his claim would be kept open, he would deal with the same person, that his benefits would be reinstated immediately when he finished. When he finished, he went back to claim and was told, that his claim had been closed, the woman who helped was not able to deal with him because he was now signing on, and it took 3 months to get his benefits back. he was on crisis loans and had to pay back every penny they paid him to live on and he didn't get the back date.
