They are here http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/loans/debt-help-plan#help
But if the debts are in Oh name, he needs to sort those out. You can do nothing about them
You need to sort out your own situation and possibly any joint debts. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -

I'm sorry, I haven't read through all your posts - do you have kids? If so, the tax credits will be a bit higher and don't forget to apply for as many other benefits as you can - it may be worth it - including housing benefit and if you are the only adult in the property you should also get 25% discount on the council tax... not much but every penny helps...
I remember when I split from my ex a few years back it took me a month or so but with the help of this site and endless googling I managed to ensure that I got all the income I needed and then became really tight with the expenses at home, after all its up to you if you can't be bothered to cook a full meal and just want cornflakes for dinner! Its hard but you'll be amazed how much you'll be able to save - I'm in the reverse now with a new hubby but I'm trying to follow sss's advice and train him up!
Keep going!:j
I have a daughter who is 2.
I dunno if I am eligible for Housing Benefit since the property is mortgaged in both names but I can try.
Whats sss'?
Thanks for your reassuring words and advice.

Thanks.
I've managed to get the Gas Bill in my name but they are still refusing to accept less than 95 quid a month!!
Dh is renting which means more outgoings...
I filled the Payplan form and emailed it to him so he can send it off the rest is up to him.
I've rang the Council as well and Tax Credits who says I'd need to do a new claim as it was joint before.

i just read the thread and im sorry to hear you are having a rough time at the moment,
i just wanted to say first and not go without letting you know - i helped my friend out with the telephone numbers for Energy Supply Ombudsman on 0845 055 0760 and for energywatch on tel 0845 906 0708
she had the letter from her supplier who had sent her a warrant to enter her premises, but she had not been given any court papers - not sure if this is similar to your problem
However, the good news she rang the them and she complained about it, and you could also in the light that you have made offers and your circumstances shows financial and health difficulties, they stopped the warrant and set up a payment plan with her
So i dont know, but looks like a similar problem, no harm in ringing the numbers above and seeing if they can help you
i will subscribe and see how you get on - good luck and keep your chin up - understand can be very difficult at times, but we are all here to help and support you
take care ciao for now MAZSealed Pot Challenge member 1525

Thank you Maz I will call them tomorrow. I got some rude foreigner who took my 20 quid to set the payment plan up then told me that he is not going to do it because it needs to be 95 or nothing.
Now they would be adding 14 on for every letter they sent.
With it being in my name now they wont go for the warrant but there is still the debt!
Thank you once again and I will let you know how I get on.

Hi all.
Not having a good time lately. Payplan has said there is nothing they can do... They have sent some letters to send to our creditors and given login details for their site stating when more can be afforded to get back in touch with them.
With regards to the CCA letters only Natwest credit card has responded. The letter reads,
"We refer to your letter dated 15 August2008, regarding the above mentioned account.
You requested a copy of your credit agreement for the above mentioned account. However, as the account has been fully repaid, there is no longer any requirement for the Bank to comply with this request. Therefore, we have returned your 1.00 payment as the fee is not required.
Should further assistance be required, please do not hesitate to contact us at the above office.
PP Recovery Manager"
I am puzzled as to what 'fully repaid' means because it is not... unless they are referring to a bad debt reconciliation or some sort of insurance they had in place
What do I do now? Obviously on one hand they are saying is fully repaid but on the other hand the threatening letters are still coming....

 What do I have to do to get some advice or even support from this site?:o I see others posting and getting tons of advice but my posts are just shunned. I put of threads for Help and I'm practically begging.
I'm not one to ask for help as I am normally the problem solver but with my depression, stress from every angle and a child to take care of not to mention a recent split, I can't think at all... Even the simplest of things are hard for me. I forget easily now and it annoys me because this is not who I am.
I am feeling down and out and can't see a light and really thought with the help of members from this site I could get the will power to go on as you are all dealing with or have dealt with a similar situation... but it doesn't seem like it...
Thank you to those who have assisted thus far and apologies to the ones who might take offense I am not having a go but merely expressing how I feel...
Good bye
