You probably need to ask for their Cashminder account. This is a basic, no overdraft acoount with a Visa Electron.card.

    Hi Danielleindebt

If you use the following link Basic Bank Accounts, and in the Basic bank accounts section click on publications it will provide you with a list of accounts and what benefits the account offers. You should be able to open a different account and pay your shopping money into that to keep it seperate.

    Hope this helps

    Hi Daniel

The same thing happened to me but if you call them or go to a branch you should be able to open a cashminder account with an electron card.

Just to re-iterate what the others have said, you need to ask for the basic account, Cashminder. I've just swapped to a cashminder and the co-op have been brilliant! The visa electron is taken in more places than my old solo!! :)

They will probably write to you and enclose an application form for their basic account.
