question concerning overpaid housing benefit

last year i was on receiving housing benefit because i was unemployed. when i managed to get a job, the council kept paying me the money despite me telling them on numerous occations i was now working and therefore no longer entitled to receive it.
but thats all in the past now and sorted out now, and the end result is i now oew them around £800 back, but silly old me spent it all and so i'm currently repaying them £20 a month as part of my own DMP-type scheme with y other debtors (totalling around £8000ish)
once my last credit card is paid off in a few months time, i am planning on keeping some money back each month and putting it into a savings account so later on down the line i can use this money to offer full and final settlements to my remaining creditors. the question i have is, could i do this for the housing benefit? the money i got from them wasn't a loan or money on credit, it was due to an adminstrative !!!!-up and i recived money i wasn't entitled to. therefore i'm i'm sure if an F+F would be accept or if i would need to pay them back in full.
does anyone know anything about this? i simply want to know where i stand

Hi
I wouldnt think that you could offer them a F&F settlement as it was money you were not entitled to but that you received.
I would suggest calling the citizens advice if you are still unsure.
